Laura studied a BA Joint Honours Spanish & French at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK), graduating in 2002.
During her studies she also spent a semester at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and University of Grenoble (Stendhal) in France.
After moving to Australia Laura completed a Translation Course at UNSW prior to successfully passing the NAATI translation exam.

Are you a NAATI translator?
Yes, I am a NAATI accredited translator (Spanish-English). You can find me on the NAATI Website under Spanish Translators or by the Postcode 2100.
What types of translations do you do?
I specialise in the translation of personal documentation (birth, marriage certificates along with record of employment, letters of recommendation, proof of residency, education qualifications and licences). I also translate general business documents. If your document is of a technical nature, please get in contact.
What do you charge?
I charge per 100 words, based on the urgency and technical nature of the document. Please get in touch if you would like a quote.
Do you work with Migration Agents?
Yes, I work closely with number of Migration Agents. Please get in touch if you need a recommendation.
I also can work directly with a Migration Agent to make the process as quick and easy as possible.
How can I get the documents to you?
You can scan and email the documents to me, contact@laurapreston.com.au or get in touch if you need further assistance with this.
In what format are the translations delivered?
I provide a pdf via email. Please let me know if you need a hard copy also.
How does invoicing work?
The invoice is due prior to the delivery of the translation.
Can you be contacted if there is a query with the translation?
Yes, my translation contains my contact details and I will answer any queries relating to documents I have translated (ie from a Government Department).
